The city of North Charleston will break ground on its newest community center at 11 a.m. Thursday at 7825 Dorchester Road adjacent to Doorway Baptist Church.

The 4,400-square-foot Dorchester Road Community Center will become the city’s 20th center and will be available for neighborhood association meetings, after-school programs, senior activities and a summer camp site. Completion is set for spring 2012.

Ground-breaking attendees should park in the church parking lot.
