NORTH CHARLESTON — North Charleston police dispatched a SWAT team Wednesday to handle a 53-year-old man who allegedly waved a gun and said he would shoot people.

Witnesses said Michael Lee ran back into his home on Rich Street when he saw officers arrive, according to an incident report. Lee refused to leave his porch and pointed a remote control at an officer while standing in the front door, the report says.

Lee then went back inside and closed the door. The report says SWAT team members engaged in a lengthy standoff before Lee came out, and officers used a Taser on him and handcuffed him.

A 45-year-old man told police that Lee pulled a gun and stuck it to his neck because he owed Lee money, according to the report.
