Your gift can help cancer patients like Paul

Paul, who is in his late 60s, has recently been diagnosed with cancer. He is unable to work and the income from his wife's job is spent on household expenses and medicine to treat his disease.

While taking his medication, Paul has to eat balanced, nutritious meals and has had to turn to a local food pantry for assistance. Without that help, he doesn't know where he would get help.

Your generous donation to the Good Cheer Fund will provide Paul with healthy foods to build up his strength and enable him to fight the cancer.

Contributions to The Post and Courier's Good Cheer Fund have helped Lowcountry residents in need during the holidays since 1927. The six charitable organizations sharing the funds collected are Carolina Youth Development Center, the Lowcountry Food Bank, the Salvation Army, Star Gospel Mission, the Association for the Blind and Catholic Charities. There are no administrative costs involved and the agencies receive every cent of the money raised.

Send tax-deductible contributions to the Good Cheer Fund, c/o The Post and Courier, 134 Columbus St., Charleston, SC 29403-4800. Donations also may be made in person or online at
