ROWESVILLE — The South Carolina Highway Patrol said three women died when their car ran off a road and hit some trees in rural Orangeburg County.

Troopers said the wreck happened about 1:30 a.m. Monday south of Rowesville.

The victims were 50-year-old Luwanna Boone of Rowesville, 18-year-old Laura Ashley Boone of Lexington and 18-year-old Hollie Cecilia Easterbrook of Lexington. Laura Boone was Luwanna Boone's stepdaughter.

Highway Patrol Cpl. Paul Brouthers said Luwanna Boone lost control of her car, ran off the road and went airborne before hitting several trees. He said all three women were wearing seat belts.

Coroner Samuetta Marshall said three women died at the the scene.
