Authorities on Thursday identified the North Charleston woman they said was shot and killed by a man, who later turned the gun on himself during a police pursuit.

Silvia Theresia Flores, 52, was shot multiple times Wednesday in her home at 5423 Rock Creek Court, Dorchester County Coroner Paul Brouthers said. Flores was on the phone with a 911 dispatcher when she was shot, according to an incident report.

Her death is being investigated as a homicide.

Shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday, North Charleston police responded to the residence for a domestic disturbance. Officers found Flores lying in the front entryway, according to the report.

Robert Christopher Loe, 37, an acquaintance who lived with Flores, fled the scene as officers arrived, authorities said.

As police pursued him, Loe crashed his vehicle on Ashley Phosphate Road. Police said he had shot himself while in the car and died.
