Alexis Lukaitis' car was found this morning in Beaufort County, two days after her body was found along a rural dirt road in Charleston County, authorities said.
Lukaitis, 27, of Bluffton died from knife wounds, Charleston County Deputy Coroner Dottie Lindsay said today.

Lukaitis' fiance, 32-year-old Michael Bartley, told Beufort County deputies that she left Beaufort for Charleston at 3 p.m. Sunday to take a friend to Charleston. Bartley last spoke to her about 7:45 p.m. Sunday at which point she said she would see him in about an hour, but she never arrived and did not return phone calls, McIntosh said.
Lukaitis was driving a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix with the South Carolina license plate FNY-718. Her vehicle was not found at the scene of the crime, authorities said.
Authorities this morning issued a "Be On The Lookout" alert over the police radio for Lukaitis' Grand Prix.
