WALTERBORO -- Walterboro Public Safety officials arrested a 31-year-old Bamberg County woman on an attempted murder charge after she admitted to firing a pistol at a man who criticized her driving Thursday afternoon.
The man told police that he approached Sharon Brabham at Walgreens on North Jeffries Boulevard and confronted her about reckless driving on Bells Highway, when she pulled out a handgun and shot at him.
Brabham told the officer she fired the gun, according to an incident report, and gave permission to retrieve it from her car.
An officer found a .380-caliber handgun and a clip with four rounds in it in the center console of Brabham's white 2007 Hyundai, the report said. A spent cartridge was found in a nearby flower bed. The round hit another man's car, the report said, damaging the rear pillar on the passenger's side.
Officers arrested Brabham on charges of attempted murder, possession of a firearm in commission of a violent crime, discharging a firearm in city limits and malicious damage to a vehicle. They took her to the Colleton County jail.
