MOUNT PLEASANT -- State troopers arrested a 47-year-old Mount Pleasant woman on a DUI charge related to a three-vehicle collision Thursday night on Clements Ferry Road.

S.C. Highway Patrol officials said Allen Taste, a 35-year-old Cross man, was driving a tractor-trailer south on Clements Ferry Road when Therese Jenkins pulled out from Sanders Farm Lane, attempting to turn left in her Chevrolet. The vehicles collided, and the tractor-trailer veered off and overturned.

A third driver, 47-year-old Willie Brown of Huger, was heading north on Clements Ferry Road in a Toyota at the time and also veered off the road, hitting a curb, troopers said.

They arrested Jenkins on a charge of DUI. Taste and his passenger in the tractor-trailer suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
