The Carolina Federal Savings Bank on St. Andrews Boulevard was held up Wednesday for the second robbery there in 10 days.
The suspect entered the West Ashley bank about 10:15 a.m. and yelled for everyone to get on the floor. He approached a teller, handed the teller a bag and demanded it be filled.
The teller reported the suspect filled the bag with money from the drawers himself, and then fled the scene on foot. He left with an undetermined amount of cash. Witnesses reported that the suspect was pointing what appeared to be a black semiautomatic handgun. A customer inside the bank was shoved to the floor by the suspect but not injured.
The robber is described as a white man, about 5-foot-9, and he was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and tan work boots.
He also was wearing a black fedora-type hat and had a blue scarf covering his face.
A witness reported seeing the suspect run across St. Andrews Boulevard in the direction of Gunn Avenue.
The same bank at 1106 St. Andrews Blvd. was robbed last week.
