Thomas Treshan Ivey is set to be executed on May 8 for the 1993 murders of an Orangeburg policeman and Columbia businessman.

Ivey and a fellow inmate escaped from an Alabama prison in 1993, stole a truck and drove to Columbia where they kidnapped and then killed a local businessman. They later shot and killed Orangeburg police officer Thomas Harrison while Harrison questioned them at an Orangeburg mall about an attempted check forgery.
