A two-vehicle crash left three people dead and two in serious condition at Medical University of South Carolina on Saturday morning.

A Camaro was speeding down Rivers Avenue around 2 a.m. when the driver ran a red light at Remount Road and hit a Chevy Impala in the intersection, according to a press release from the North Charleston Police Department. 

Three people were inside the Impala, and all three died on the scene. The Camaro's driver and passenger were taken to MUSC. The names of the people involved have not been released.

Rivers Avenue was reopened to traffic just before 10 a.m. Saturday, Spencer Pryor, spokesman for the North Charleston Police Department, said in an email.

North Charleston police continue to investigate the incident.
