An undercover operation led Wednesday netted two arrests and the seizure of $34,000 worth of marijuana, $10,000 in cash and several guns, authorities said.
An investigation led to a traffic stop in North Charleston during which 2 pounds of marijuana were found, said Dan Moon, a spokesman for the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office.
Jeffrey Brooks, 54, of Hill Top Road in Bonneau, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
He was being held in the Cannon Detention Center on $20,000 bail set Thursday by Charleston County Magistrate Linda Lombard.
Investigators searched a residence on Hill Top Road and found another 6 pounds of marijuana, as well as cash, weapons and drug paraphernalia, Moon said.
Another suspect, Jerod Brooks, 21, also of Hill Top Road, ran away from the house at the time of the search but surrendered Thursday, Moon said.
Jerod Brooks is charged with evading arrest as well as possession with intent to distribute marijuana, Moon said.
He was being held in the Hill-Finklea Detention Center pending a bail hearing.
The investigation was a joint operation of the Sheriff's Office and North Charleston Police Department.
