A Colleton County couple was arrested after narcotics officers say they discovered an active meth lab in a house.
Members of the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office and Walterboro Public Safety Joint Drug Crime Unit found the lab when they executed a narcotic search warrant at 3416 Sidney’s Road in Colleton County Monday night, according to Sheriff George Malone.
Members of the Joint Drug Crimes Unit secured the scene and called in the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Colleton County Fire and Rescue Hazardous Materials Unit.
Thomas G. McMillan was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and disposal of waste from production of methamphetamine.
Kathryn Leann Garvin Smoak was charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws.
They were taken to the county jail after decontamination.
A third person at the house was released after decontamination.
