The city of Charleston on Monday will extend the left turn lanes on Glenn McConnell Parkway to help westbound traffic flow better onto Bees Ferry Road during rush hour.

Drivers wanting to turn right onto Bees Ferry Road will be encouraged to go through the West Ashley Circle rather than going straight down Glenn McConnell to the intersection.

That's a suggested route, not a required one, said city spokesman Jack O'Toole.
