The S.C. Highway Patrol is asking the public for help in locating whoever struck and killed a pedestrian who was walking along Interstate 95 early Friday.

About 2:30 a.m., near the 164 mile marker in Florence County, a hit-and-run driver struck a man who was walking along the southbound lanes of the interstate, authorities said. The man died from injuries suffered in the collision.

According to published reports, Florence County Deputy Coroner Don Reynolds identified the victim as Leon Brailey, 42, of Florence.
