HANAHAN - Numerous residents in the Otranto subdivision awoke Sunday morning to find their tires slashed, police said.
Officers fielded about 20 vandalism reports in all, Hanahan police Lt. Michael Fowler said.
All but about three of the incidents happened on Monte Sano Drive. Most affected cars parked near the street and involved only one damaged tire per vehicle.
Police think the incidents happened between 3 and 7 a.m., Fowler said. It was the second time in as many weeks that police had responded to slashed tires in the neighborhood. About 15 cars were vandalized in similar ways between April 12 and 13.
