MOUNT PLEASANT -- Mount Pleasant police are searching for three suspects after an armed robbery shooting at the McDonald's restaurant in Mount Pleasant at 6:45 a.m. Saturday.

The incident took place at the McDonald's at The Market at Oakland Plantation, located south of Wando High School.

A restaurant manager, who was male, was shot twice but had injuries that were not life-threatening, according to Sgt. Justin Hembree of the department's criminal investigations unit. Hembree did not want the locations of the wounds detailed for investigation reasons.

"We haven't seen this kind of violence in a robbery in quite some time," Hembree said. "Most robberies here are in-and-out."

Hembree said two black males entered the restaurant with a pistol and demanded money, and another man stayed in the car.

The men left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money in a later model, two-tone Crown Victoria, authorities said.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Mount Pleasant Police Department at 884-4176 or Crimestoppers at 554-1111.
