Police arrested 19-year-old Devonte Stafford from Bream Road, 18-year-old Derrick Givens from Grayson Street, and 18-year-old Gladstone Tray Small from London Terry Street and charged them with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.

A man who went out for a walk with his dog ended up getting robbed at gunpoint in North Charleston Saturday.

Police arrested 19-year-old Devonte Stafford from Bream Road, 18-year-old Derrick Givens from Grayson Street, and 18-year-old Gladstone Tray Small from London Terry Street and charged them with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.

A 20-year-old man told police he was walking on Parliament Drive when two men with a pistol approached him shortly after midnight.

The men stole the victim’s cell phone, then ran toward a grey Pontiac Grand Prix driven by a third man, and drove away, an incident report states.

The victim and a 25-year-old woman who witnessed the robbery saw the vehicle’s plates. Police located the vehicle at a nearby CVS on Ashley Phosphate Road, the report said.

Officers watched as five men got out of the vehicle and entered the store.

Three of the men came back out of the store, were ordered onto the ground and handcuffed, according to the report. The other two men ran back into store and hid in the bathrooms.

Police cornered the two men, yelled for them to come out of the bathrooms, and they complied.

The victim and witness identified the three men who walked out of the store first as the ones who committed the armed robbery.

Stafford, Givens and Small appeared in bond court Monday. Their bails were set at $100,000 each.
