Third robbery suspect surrenders

  • Updated

The third of three suspects wanted for a June 9 armed robbery near Pitt Street and Montagu Street surrendered to Charleston police this morning.

Lakeith Edwards, 25, of Stall Road, is charged with armed robbery. He turned himself in about 9:30 a.m. and is being held in the Cannon Detention Center, police spokesman Charles Francis said.

He said two other suspects, Tavia Wiggins, 22, of Champaign Lane, James Island, and Raymond Eurie Jr., 21, of Stall Road, North Charleston, surrendered to police earlier in the month. They are both charged with armed robbery and were being held at the Cannon Detention Center.

According to a police report, a 38-year-old West Ashley man was seated in a parked pickup truck about 11:10 p.m. June 9 when two men opened the driver side door and passenger side door. One of the men held his hand as if he had a gun, and both men demanded money. The female suspect stood near the vehicle while the victim was being robbed, the report said.
