The story of the pirate Blackbeard is one of many included in the Pirates, Privateers & Buccaneers exhibit at Old Santee Canal Park.

Pirates, Privateers & Buccaneers of the Carolinas

What: This exhibit tells the story of Blackbeard and other pirates, as well as dispels some old myths about pirates and what they did, developed by the South Carolina State Museum with research, collaboration and assistance from the North Carolina Museum of History, the Queen Anne’s Revenge Project of the North Carolina Office of State Archaeology and the North Carolina Maritime Museum.

When: 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily through July 14

Where: Old Santee Canal Park, 900 Stony Landing Road, Moncks Corner

Walk and Restore Yoga

What: Restorative yoga professionals will lead participants along short walking loops, stopping intermittently to stretch and relax, teaching restorative yoga techniques on strength, flexibility, balance and breath. Open to all levels, including mothers with children in strollers.

When: 9:30-10:30 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays

Master Gardener Q & A

What: Volunteer Clemson Extension Tri-County Master Gardener certified master gardeners will be on hand to answer all kinds of questions about Lowcountry gardening.

Holy City Confessionals

What: A revamped open mic hosted by Danielle Howle, featuring only singer/songwriters and original music, modeled after the Nashville, Tenn. music showcases. A full stage set-up is provided with drums, bass amp and keys. Each artist will perform three or four songs. No cover.
