Focus: Fashion and Art
Born in Bogota, Colombia, Alejandra Acuna grew up in the U.S. She was an editorial intern for Maxim Magazine in New York City. Her work has been published in The Syracuse New Times, syracuse.com, The Miami Planet and The National Parks Association. She was an intern in the Univision Art Department and VENUE Magazine, a bilingual magazine in Miami, Fla.
Jessica Cabe has been singing (pretty badly) since she could talk. A trained saxophonist and guitar player, she knew she wouldn't make a living performing, so she turned to music journalism. This spring she was an intern at Relix, a music magazine in New York City. This summer she will work in the publicity department for the Aspen Music Festival. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a B.A. in journalism, and her work has appeared in the Syracuse New Times, Syracuse.com, the Winnebago County News Bulletin, the Daily Orange, The NewsHouse, Green Room Reviews and the Northern Star, as well as on Northern Public Radio WNIJ.
Focus: Theater and Television
Arshie Chevalwala was born and raised in Mumbai, India, and wrote for the country's largest English newspaper, The Times of India, throughout her undergraduate years. She had studied business and the fine arts before deciding that journalism was her true calling, with the arts as her focus. This spring she applied her television and research expertise as an intern at The Paley Center for Media in New York City.
Focus: Classical Music and Television
Sarah Hope is a classical music and television critic with a passion for the intersection of art and sociocultural issues. She holds bachelor's degrees in music and sociology. Her writing has explored themes of race, gender and sexuality in popular culture. Her work has been published in The NewsHouse, The Good Men Project and Flurt! magazine. Beginning this summer, she will become classical music and television critic for The New Times.
Focus: Theater and Education
Melanie is an arts writer and certified teacher from Syracuse, N.Y., with a love for theater and a passion for education. In 2013, she graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University with a degree in inclusive elementary and special education and a minor in drama. She has combined her knowledge of education with her journalistic skills this spring as an Arts in Education & Community Programs intern at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Melanie has been published in Syracuse Stage's magazine Stageview, GreenRoomReviews.com, The Newshouse and The Syracuse New Times.
Focus: Film and Theater
A cinephile and aspiring film critic, Max interned at Indiewire this spring writing features and news. He has also written for the Syracuse Post-Standard, The Airspace and Yale's Out of Order Magazine. Max graduated from Ball State University with a B.A. in film studies and a minor in theatre. When not writing about film, Max is probably watching, reading or loudly talking about it, and he is an avid reader of film criticism. He also regularly updates his blog: thefilmtemple.blogspot.com.

Insher Pan graduated from Sun Yat-sen University in China with a B.A. in journalism. Her work has been published by Syracuse.com, Xinhua News Agency and the blog Green Room Reviews. Using her knowledge of Chinese art and culture, she works for the China Institute Gallery in New York City, a nonprofit gallery that specializes in promoting Chinese culture in the U.S.

Nick Reichert's interests include theater, film, history, jazz, country and pop music. This spring he finished an editorial internship at American Theatre magazine in New York City, and has also interned at Syracuse.com and WCNY-TV, where he produced, edited and contributed to several video pieces covering local theater and art. His work has been published in American Theatre magazine, The Newshouse and Green Room Reviews.
Focus: Video Games, Literature and Games
Nicholas is a writer and videographer who grew up in Buffalo, N.Y. He served as an editorial intern at Popular Mechanics magazine this spring where he helped launch a new section on video games, and also has been an intern at the Syracuse New Times and WCNY-TV. He has written for Fantasy-Faction, a leading genre website. He earned his B.A. in media studies at the University at Buffalo in 2012, and launched the website The Roaming Bard to review books and movies.
Focus: Fine Arts
Born and raised in Shanghai, Anita is an arts journalist focusing on Asian art and the international art market. Her recent work has appeared on WCNY Television, Syracuse.com and in the Syracuse New Times. While not telling stories, she can be found traveling and running her bilingual tech and cultural website anitaxu.com. She was a contributing writer for CNN International Travel and has worked with several media outlets in Shanghai.
Focus: Film, Culture, Photography and Public Art
Olivia writes behind-the-scenes stories of the arts industry. This spring she worked as an audience development intern at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, where she managed social media platforms, wrote artist bios and worked with statistical reporting. Her photography and writing has been published by the Syracuse New Times, The Newshouse and Green Room Reviews.
Focus: Visual Arts, Film, Theater and Music
Angela Zonunpari aspires to write about India's smaller communities and their cultures. She worked as an intern at the Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art in New York City. Before coming to the U.S., she worked for two years for one of India's top newspapers, the Hindustan Times. Inspired by her multiethnic background, Angela writes on film, theater, music and visual art, and documents them through videos and photographs. Her articles have been published in the Hindustan Times, Syracuse New Times, The Newshouse, The Stand and The Scribbler.
