Charleston police are looking for two guys who earlier this week abducted the King.

The King of Beers, that is.

At 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, two men walked into the West Ashley L'il Cricket at 642 St. Andrews Blvd., chucked a rock through a glass door, ran in and grabbed nearly two cases of Bud Light, police said.

Police said the two were wearing dark hats and shirts and bandannas over their faces. When the clerk, who had been in the back of the store, heard the crash, he came out and saw them running out of the store, beer in hand. One of the men had gone behind the counter and looked through drawers, but apparently didn't take anything but the suds, police said.

Charleston police patrolling the area got the call and responded quickly, finding a 12-pack of beer lying on the ground. Police retrieved photos of the heist from surveillance cameras and are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
