More than two years after the body of a missing Ehrhardt man was discovered in Francis Marion National Forest, authorities have arrested a pair of suspects and charged them with murder.

Christina N. Alderman, 41, and Jason E. Down, 46, were arrested at 6 p.m. Friday on suspicion of the murder of Charles Glenn Bishop, said Maj. Eric Watson, a Charleston County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

Alderman and Down, both residents of North Charleston, were also charged with possessing a firearm while committing a violent crime, and with destruction or desecration of human remains, Watson said.

Bishop, 39, was reported missing between Sept. 18 and Sept. 20, 2015.

His remains were discovered in different parts of the forest on Sept. 25 that year, Watson said.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office ruled the death a homicide that October, saying that Bishop died from a gunshot wound to the head.
