Suspect surrenders in S.C. State slaying

MOUNT PLEASANT -- The State Law Enforcement Division said Friday that Maurice Shatodd Thompson surrendered to Mount Pleasant police Thursday night.

Thompson, 23, of East Bay Street Apartments in Charleston, was wanted on charges of accessory after the fact of murder in connection with the April 15 shooting death of 22-year-old South Carolina State University student Johnathon Bailey of Holly Hill.

Thompson was transported to the Orangeburg County Jail.

Three other suspects are also in custody.
