SUMMERVILLE -- A warrant has been issued for a suspect in the Dec. 19 shooting death of William Michael Cummings Jr., the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.
Dana Andrew Butler Jr., 19, of Summerville is charged with murder. Butler should be considered armed and dangerous, the sheriff's office said.
Cummings, 19, of Moncks Corner was shot in his chest about 7:30 p.m. while standing outside a car in the parking area at Azalea Park Apartments on Orangeburg Road. Cummings managed to get into the car, and the driver took him a distance from the apartments and called 911. But Cummings was dead by the time help arrived, authorities said.
