Summerville police officers said they found meth-making materials after two men tried to use fake identification to make a pharmacy purchase.

The police were first called around 1:45 a.m. to a Walgreens on North Main Street. Officers detained two men there and “found several fake documents on one of the subjects” and a hotel key card, a police statement said.

In the room at the Holiday Inn on Holiday Drive that corresponded to the key card, officers reported finding “several chemicals indicative to manufacturing methamphetamine,” according to the statement.

The men’s names and the criminal charges they face were not immediately known.
