A store clerk was assaulted with a stun gun Wednesday during an attempted armed robbery at a Dorchester County store, authorities said.
About 5 p.m., two men entered the Dollar General store on Central Avenue in Summerville and one of them used a stun gun on the clerk, sheriff's Maj. John Garrison said.
The men were unable to steal anything and they ran away, Garrison said. Deputies used tracking dogs to try to find them in the area, with no success.
The two men were described only as black males, with one of them wearing a red shirt. Anyone with information about the crime should call the Sheriff's Office at 832-0300 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
