Downtown churches combined Friday afternoon for an ecumenical procession through the streets of Charleston. Good Friday worshippers gathered at First Baptist Church to mark the stations of the cross, proceeding to First (Scots) Presbyterian Church, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and St. Michael's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Al Zadig, Jr., rector of St. Michael's, said it was an opportunity to join together in a solemn celebration, even as bad news otherwise inundates our daily lives.
