CHARLESTON — Police responded to Occupy Charleston protesters at Marion Square early Tuesday morning, but they left without making arrests, witnesses said.

“They said this is not a fight between us and you all,” Ramon Caraballo said around dawn Tuesday.

Only about a half-dozen protesters remained in the park as the sun rose.

Caraballo said about 30 protesters had spent the night. He said police told them to come to a meeting at City Hall tonight.
