Back to School: The S.C. Thrift and Resale's "Back to School" benefit event will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday at South Carolina Thrift & Resale, 1670 U.S. Hwy. 17, Mount Pleasant. The event includes a fashion show, door prizes, ice cream and more. Proceeds benefit the Center for Women. 763-333.

Party: The city of Charleston Department of Recreation will hold a "No Sand Beach Party" at 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Martin Park Playground. The free event includes games, food, swimming and free school supplies.
