Desron Lamar Junes

A 20-year-old was arrested Tuesday on charges that he stabbed a man inside a North Charleston convenience store in September.

Desron Lamar Junes of Accabee Road in North Charleston faces a charge of attempted murder in the Sept. 22 incident at the Max Quick Stop at 2000 McMillan Ave.

According to the North Charleston Police Department incident report, responding officers found the 20-year-old victim on the store’s floor about 8:13 p.m. They said Justin L. James of Royal Palm Boulevard was suffering multiple stab wounds.

The stabbing was the result of an altercation, but the police said at the time that it wasn’t known what James and his attacker were fighting about.

Tuesday’s arrest of Junes came after an anonymous tip to a police officer. The police and the U.S. Marshals Service arrested him about 9 p.m. at 7008 Carter St.

An incident report said that he was taken into custody without a problem, but that the officers found a very small amount of a “green plant-like material” in his pocket.
