Art for home-school students

What: Morning classes are being offered for students that are home schooled. All media, drawing and painting will be covered. There are several days and times. Call the studio. Classes are ongoing and month-to-month. One hour/one day per week.

Art: After-school classes

What: After-school art classes are being held for ages 6 and up. Classes are held Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturday afternoons. Classes are in drawing and painting and are for the beginner to advanced artist. Class is one hour per week ongoing every four weeks.

When: 3-4 p.m. Sept. 6-7, and 1-2 p.m. Sept. 10.

Kids' drawing

What: In this three-week class, students will be introduced to the basic concepts of drawing. They will experiment with contour lines, shading and creating compositions. By the end of the three weeks, students will have created drawings to take home. Recommended for ages 7-13.

CML SuperStars

What: The first Sunday of every month the museum opens its doors to children with special needs and their families. SuperStars provides children with special needs the ability to explore the museum when it is closed to avoid crowds and over-stimulation so they get to enjoy exhibits at their own pace. SuperStars is free, but registration is required.

Family Belay Lesson

What: Spend time together climbing and learning new skills on the Climbing Wall. Children ages 4-13 will climb while parents learn to belay. Children age 14 and up can learn to belay as well as climb. A registered and paid chaperon is required for children ages 15 and under. Preregistration required. For ages 4 and up.

When: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 11.

What: The 2011 Palmetto Invitational Classic will be held at Johnson Hagood Stadium.
