GREENVILLE -- A Spartanburg man has been sentenced to life in prison after he was convicted of killing a Tennessee man more than two years ago.
The Greenville News reported that Julian D. Battle, 28, was convicted Thursday of murder in a Greenville court in the 2009 Christmas shooting death of Rafael Dodd, 29, of Memphis.
Battle said Dodd was shot during an argument at a Greenville apartment between two sets of cousins.
It was Battle's second trial. A jury in September was unable to reach a verdict. Battle apologized to members of Dodd's family after the conviction.
