MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — The son of a South Carolina police chief has been arrested for possession of methamphetamine and cocaine.

The Sun News reports Myrtle Beach police officers found 25-year-old- Benjamin Clayton Long and three others in a suspicious vehicle Saturday. All three showed signs of impairment.

A police report says a metal tray with white powder on it was found in the car and tested positive for meth. A baggie filled with white powder tested positive for cocaine.

Long told officers he had no clue he was in possession of meth. He said he thought it was cocaine and would only admit to having cocaine.

Long's father is Conway Police Chief Dale Long. He declined to comment on the case to the newspaper.

Long was released on a personal recognizance bond.
