With the help of a wrecker Tuesday, the Charleston County Sheriff's Office dive team raises a Honda CRX from the Wallace River near the Peter Miller Bridge on U.S. Highway 17. The Honda and a car too deteriorated to identify were pulled from the river by 5 p.m., sheriff's Maj. Jim Brady said. 'Based on the condition of the vehicles, they have been in the water for a prolonged period of time,' he said.
Investigators will begin the process of identifying the vehicles and their owners, Brady said. The sheriff's Underwater Recovery Team and Marine Patrol went to the river near Ravenel after a caller on Monday reported a submerged vehicle.
