COLUMBIA -- Richland County authorities have identified the man who they said fatally shot a cab driver, led police on a chase and then turned the gun on himself.

Sheriff's deputies identified the man as 20-year-old Nicholas Rivers of Camden. Investigators haven't released the names of the victims, including a female taxi driver whom they said Rivers robbed before killing the second driver.

They said he robbed the female driver, made her call another cab for him and stole her cell phone before she drove off. Her 7-year-old son was in the car with her. Authorities said when the second cab arrived, Rivers shot the driver several times, killing him. He then led deputies on a chase and killed himself at a roadblock.
