Charleston County sheriff’s deputies arrested one person Wednesday after a brief pursuit on U.S. Highway 78 in North Charleston.

At about 3:20 p.m., a deputy saw a burgundy Honda being driven recklessly on U.S. 78, according to an incident report.

The deputy attempted to stop the driver, who fled toward Otranto Road, then through the Super Kmart parking lot on U.S. 52, then back onto 78, the report said.

The driver jumped from the vehicle, which was located off of Buck Run Court in the Salamander Creek subdivision. The driver was subsequently located in the area by K-9 officers, the report said.

The Sheriff’s Office did not immediately have the identification of the driver, who is expected to face multiple charges.
