Officials on Saturday confirmed the shooting death of a Marine at a Beaufort air base. 

The shooting occurred at 9:30 p.m. Friday at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, said 2nd Lt. Kevin Buss, a base spokesman. 

The victim served with Marine Aircraft Group-31 and was shot by another Marine, Buss said. A suspect is in custody.
