Charleston County school officials have finished checking the addresses of School of the Arts students to ensure that they are county residents, and they are compiling that information into a report.

District officials launched schoolwide audits for every student enrolled in Academic Magnet High and Charleston County School of the Arts last week to verify that every student is a county resident.

Audrey Lane, the district's deputy for organizational advancement, said she hopes to have results of the School of the Arts audit by the end of the week, as well as a better idea on what the district's next steps will be, she said. The audit of the addresses for Academic Magnet students likely won't be finished until Friday, she said.
