A Fox television news team will try again for a live broadcast from Folly Beach.
The new date is March 11, according to Rudy Socha, chief executive officer of Wounded Nature — Working Veterans. He’s one of the scheduled guests on the show and has been helping coordinate and publicize it.
“Fox & Friends Weekend” weatherman Rich Reichmuth would give an hourly update for the Fox News Channel between 6 and 10 a.m. The crew would set up on the end of the beach near Morris Island Lighthouse.
Sunday morning’s broadcast was called off because of rain.
The show would bring national attention to the erosion that has closed Folly Beach County Park, the threat of plastic trash to sea turtles and Socha’s venture to employ veterans cleaning up the barrier islands off the East Coast.
It would also be a chance for bystanders to get on national television, since Reichmuth typically talks to people in the audience.
