The Trident Literacy Association's Read-A-Thon continues at Charleston County Public Libraries Aug. 4-8.

CCPL branches will host Read-A-Thons through Aug. 8. The next three events will be held at the Dorchester Road branch on Aug. 4 at 6:30 p.m. with readers Ed Astle of the North Charleston City Council, North Charleston Police Chief Jon Zumalt and TLA board member Kristal Hudson-Randall; Mount Pleasant branch on Aug. 6 at 6 p.m. with readers Kate Jerome, a local author, and Riverdogs owner Mike Veeck; and the Otranto branch on Aug. 8 at 2 p.m. with readers James Howard, a local author, Berkeley County School District reading award winner Ethan Berry (age 8) and author Geordie Buxton.
