Why: A cold front pushing through seasonally warming air. The front has been firing up thunderstorms and tornadoes as it crosses the South.

--If a tornado watch is issued, move cars inside a garage or carport to avoid damage from hail, which often accompanies tornadoes. Keep your car and house keys with you.

--Move lawn furniture and yard equipment inside. Otherwise they could be damaged or act as dangerous projectiles causing injury or damage.

--Keep your family safe inside and if a tornado threatens, move to a room without windows in the center of your home.
