Showers and some thunderstorms capable of producing torrential downpours are on tap for the rest of today in the Charleston and surrounding area, according to the National Weather Service.
Rainfall totals of about an inch to up to 3 inches are possible and could produce local flooding, especially in low-lying areas or areas with poor drainage.
Temperatures are expected to hover around 90.
The rain is the result of remnants of a tropical low that has stalled along the Georgia-Alabama border, the NWS reported.
The inclement weather is expected to clear overnight and Monday's forecast calls for sunny weather with a high around 90.
