A man who was shot Monday was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, North Charleston police said.

Police were called about 3:50 p.m. to Dorchester Village Mobile Home Park, near Leslie and Nelson streets, concerning shots fired. Police found Travis Grandenson, 26, with a gunshot wound to his hip. He provided limited details on the incident, police spokesman Spencer Pryor said. He was taken to MUSC, Pryor said.

Witnesses told police a physical altercation took place on Brantford Street involving a group of males. One man allegedly ran off, returned with a handgun and fired shots at Grandenson. The shooter then fled the area, Pryor said.
