Charleston police on Wednesday made the first arrest in a fatal shooting last month in the Rosemont neighborhood.
Kyser Montgomery, 21, of 2225 Delano St. is charged with obstruction of justice, according to police spokesman Charles Francis. Montgomery was being held in the Cannon Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
Montgomery is accused of concealing information about the fatal shooting of Paul Mitchell Jr., 24, of North Charleston. Mitchell was shot to death on April 29 near Austin Avenue and Delano Street. Police found him lying dead in the intersection.
The investigation is ongoing but no other arrests have been made, Francis said.
