North Charleston police arrested a woman on charges of selling illegally copied compact discs and counterfeit clothing from a roadside stand Tuesday.
Officers reported finding Delores Johnson, 42, of North Charleston at the old Hess Station at Dorchester Road and Kent Avenue around 12:30 p.m. based on information from a previous case, a police report says. Officers reported finding more than 5,000 copied CDs, nearly 600 copied DVDs, 49 pairs of counterfeit Nike shoes and numerous articles of clothing, including sports jerseys, caps and jeans.
Johnson told police she did not sell copied CDs but gave them to customers who spent $50 or more while shopping at her stand, a report stated.
Johnson was charged with illegal distribution of audio recordings and distribution of goods with a counterfeit mark. Her total bail was set at $20,000.
