A horse broke free from its carriage tour shortly after noon Wednesday, according to a Charleston police report, causing one man to fall off the carriage and suffer minor injuries. The incident happened at Franklin and Broad streets after a diesel engine spooked a horse with Old South Carriage Tours, a witness told police. The horse knocked over a motorcycle, the report said, and a passenger fell off the carriage. The horse then broke free from its restraints, but the carriage driver took control of the animal, the report said.
