Charleston County District 3 voters will have a third option in the November general election for County Council.

Coakley Hilton received enough signatures on a petition to qualify for the November ballot.

His name will appear with Democrat Elliott Summey and Republican Mickie Kelecy.

Marilyn Bowers, executive director of the Board of Elections and Voter Registration, said that Hilton exceeded the 709 votes — 5 percent of registered voters — that he needed to be on the ballot.
