North Charleston police are investigating the shooting death of a 23-year-old man found in the road shortly after midnight near Purcell Drive and Old Ridge Road, according to Spencer Pryor.

According to police, witnesses reported that a gold Ford Crown Victoria had been seen speeding from the area. Police later stopped a car matching that description near Ashley Phosphate Road, and the driver was arrested and charged with driving under suspicion. Police are trying to determine if the driver is linked to the shooting.

Another man was also found shot in the leg in the Valleyview Lane area, Pryor said. He was taken to MUSC for treatment.

Police say no motive for the shootings has been determined.
