One arrest was made Tuesday, and another suspect is being sought, in the Monday night robbery at Arby’s on Folly Road, Charleston police said.

Two men made dressed entirely in black clothing showed their firearms around 9:12 p.m. and forced the manager to give them $475. The robbers fled on foot, west on Sawgrass Road, a police report said.

Melvin Laurence Gathers, 25, of Andrews Street, North Charleston, is charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. He was taken into custody without incident about 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Econo Lodge on Savannah Highway and is being held in the Cannon Detention Center.

Police searched Gathers’ motel room and a residence on Hanover Street in connection with the investigation, police spokesman Charles Francis said.
